The objective of the Better Regulation Council is to scrutinise the quality of, and issue opinions on, regulatory impact assessments of proposals that may have significant effects on businesses.

The RPC is the independent regulatory scrutiny body for the UK Government. The Committee assesses the quality of evidence and analysis used to inform government regulatory proposals, usually when these proposals are accompanying legislation in Parliament.

Swedish Better Regulation Council’s annual report 2023
The report for 2023 has been submitted to the Ministry of Climate and Business. The report shows that the overall quality of the regulatory impact assessments has deteriorated somewhat when compared to 2022. In total, 61 percent of impact assessments met the relevant requirements.
